This San Diego Event isn’t just any Comic-Con; it is THE Comic-Con. It is the one that the most passionate fans of sci-fi, anime, and comics dream of attending. It is the largest Comic-Con in the country. It all began in 1970 when a few comic book fans thought it would be fun to host a gathering with other fans so they could discuss plots, characters, and other finer points of the comic book world.
That first Comic-Con drew about 300 people. Not bad, but the San Diego Event continued to grow over the years, and more than 130,000 attendees are expected at the 2014 Comic-Con International. The popularity of this event is both a good and a bad thing for fans. It’s good because some of the biggest talents in the sci-fi and comic world agree to be part of this Comic-Con. It’s bad because getting tickets can be difficult. Comic-Con International usually sells out very quickly after tickets are made available.
Those who were lucky enough to get tickets to this year’s Comic-Con will have the chance to meet 40 of their favorite writers, attend panel discussions, see some heroes of the cosplay world, and much more. This is a family-friendly San Diego Event, so parents can feel comfortable bringing their children. There are even special activities to help get children interested in sci-fi and comics. A gaming area has everything from board games to vintage video games.
Attendees will have the chance to learn about various fan groups from around the country, buy hard-to-find collectibles, attend the interesting panel discussions, and much more.
