Best Bars in San Diego
When you visit San Diego be sure to plan on spending some time in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter and experience all the excitement and entertainment to be had at the many live music venues, Sports Bars, Comedy Clubs, San Diego Rooftop Bars, Dinner Theaters, San Diego Bars and Nightclubs.
San Diego nightlife is predominantly divided between downtown and the beach area. Our Handbook lists all of the best nightclubs that provide a variety of adult entertainment any day of the week. Also included in the Handbook are easy-to-use maps which facilitate travel around San Diego. Most of the clubs are a mere half-hour apart from downtown to as far as La Jolla.
Downtown has foam dancing until two AM at the Blue Tattoo on Thursdays. Croce’s has two clubs with live bands and a great restaurant. Cafe Sevilla has a Latin club with frequent live bands featuring salsa and meringue as well as flamenco and classical guitar upstairs.
While the Gaslamp district, downtown, offers a great deal of entertainment, as many tourists and locals alike enjoy, we also recommend the beach clubs. As natives, we prefer the beach area mainly because after dancing and dining we love taking long walks along the beach at night. Some of our favorite clubs are more casual, catering to a relaxed yet energized crowd. The Blind Melons features jazz bands and reggae music. The Daily Planet is an intimate bar with a little dance floor where rock and alternative pound all night. Moose McGuilly Cuddy’s music varies from night to night, ranging from alternative to club, rock, and reggae, plus live bands.
So, regardless of where you decide to let loose, you can’t go wrong with the choices offered in our Handbook.
