Ventura Beach Camping Guide

There are no less than seven places where you can enjoy Ventura beach camping. Here, you’ll find pertinent information on these Ventura campgrounds, such as location, facilities available, number of tent or RV sites, and contact numbers. Plus photos and a map of Ventura campgrounds.

Ventura is a great place to camp at the beach, due to it’s mild climate, moderate ocean temperatures, and proximity to things to do in Ventura California.

One thing all these campgrounds have in common (except McGrath) is the proximity to the railroad tracks. This means you will hear the train roar through now and then. Also, they all have nice views of the Channel Islands off shore.

Emma Wood State Beach and Ventura Beach RV Resort offer camping closer to town, while McGrath State Beach, Faria County Park, Hobson Park County Campground, Rincon RV Parkway are located further up or down the coast. These are still just a short drive to the  Ventura Harbor Village or downtown in case you fancy a dinner in a restaurant.

Depending on the time of year, some campgrounds allow online reservations, while others are first come, first served.  Call individual campgrounds to inquire about reservations, current conditions and prices.

One place for Ventura County beach camping is at Faria County Beach Park Campground.  Tall palm trees stand around the entrance parking lot, adding tropical flair. There is a restroom, showers and a small store with a food stand where you can get breakfast and lunch. A couple of tables are out front.

Activities include surfing, fishing and playing horse shoes in the horse shoes pit. The beach is partly rocky, partly sandy.  If you want to take a quick drive south, Faria Beach is a nice cove popular with surfers and stand up board surfers.
